The Blood Cult Project

The blood cult project was inspired by the blood moon. The blood moon represents rage, as well as grief. The animals represented in my collection all have something in common. Life, doing what they must to survive another day. Loads of bloodshed, violence, and grief. Animals can mourn the loss of their own just like humans.

About each piece

  • Blood Cult (Red Fox): Foxes are known to be shy but are also fun and curious. They hunt for their food at night. If you're lucky, you might see one roaming during the day. Foxes are omnivores, they dine on rodents as well as berries. With their sharp appearance, I deemed them as being a good candidate for my blood cult collection.

  • Lord of Blood (Coyote): Coyotes are known to be vicious towards humans. They are closely related to wolves which is why I made them the Lord of Blood. Known to prey on pets and other animals they are relentless when it comes to survival. The Lord of Blood embodies the power to do what it must in order to receive what they desire. The branches of the tree reach down towards the blood moon, engulfing its energy and turning it into its own. There are six sigils, three on each side representing: Empowerment, Sacrifice, Fertility, Life-Force, Death, and Dynasty.

  • Blood Cult (Muskrat): Muskrats are rodents which most rodents are seen as pests. This piece represents their sacrifice and grief, to be misunderstood by humankind. The bloodshed of many to be witnessed by the blood moon.

  • Blood Cult (No Bones): Two blood hounds howl up at the moon begging for more bloodshed. Are they lovers or are they fighters? A hand painted piece for those who can’t have real animal bones on their wall.
